Team Levels and Sizes:We will be limiting team size for the 2010 season to 20 players per level.This decision was made to allow quality instruction and ample playing time for all players.We have a limited number of trained coaches and can only offer teams where there are coaches available to coach! Kindergarten players will participate in an instructional program only.There will be game situations, but they will be within the club. Players must register for their corresponding grade level team. Teams are Grades 1/2, Grades 3/4, Grade 5 and Grade 6.
Registration will be open from February 2nd to February 12th. Team sizes will be capped at 20 and players will be placed on a waiting list if they register after this quota has been met. Request:Our board strongly believes that youth sports teach vital life lessons.Of course we favor Lacrosse, but we still see the value in playing baseball, soccer and other spring activities.With this in mind, we are respectfully asking you to carefully consider your decision to register your son for spring lacrosse if it is in addition to another sport.If you have a child who is interested in playing both soccer (or baseball) and lacrosse, please consider the effect this will have on both of his teams.Missing practices and games at a developmental level is not good for any player, regardless of their skill level.In lacrosse there are multiple positions and plays that are reinforced for safety and success in competition.Missing practices regularly interrupts this process and is not recommended.Another thing to consider in regard to this point is that team size is capped this year and registering a child who will not be a full participant is taking that spot on the team away from another potential player.Thank you for your understanding.
Volunteer Opportunities: During you registration you will be asked to select from a list of volunteer opportunties to help with the 2010 league functions.Please be advised that if there is not adequate support for an activity, that activity will not be offered. We encourage at least one person from each family to sign up for something.Descriptions of positions can be accessed here.
